The main cutting edge of carbide end mills is on the cylindrical surface, and the cutting edge on the end face is the secondary cutting edge, which cannot be fed along the axial direction of the milling cutter during operation. Carbide end mills can be used for side machining, groove machining, and surface machining. In the field of other processing, over the long years, the carbide end mills themselves have been innovating, they are the same but different. They are high-speed steel solid carbide end mills, cemented carbide solid carbide end mills, and indexable carbide end mills. Over the years, the cutting tool industry has been trying to replace solid carbide carbide end mills with indexable carbide end mills. mills. There have been many attempts, but few have been successful. However, the overall carbide end mills of cemented carbide have been standing upright and won the favor of the majority of users.
Due to the tiny gap between the carbide end mills and the toolholder, the tool may vibrate during machining. Vibration will make the cutting amount of the carbide end mills circular edge uneven, and the cutting expansion will be larger than the original value, which will affect the machining accuracy and tool life. However, when the width of the machined groove is too small, the tool can also be vibrated on purpose, and the required groove width can be obtained by increasing the amount of cutting and expansion, but in this case, the maximum amplitude of the carbide end mills should be limited to less than 0.02mm , otherwise stable cutting cannot be performed. The less vibration the carbide end mills have during normal processing, the better.
When tool vibration occurs, consider reducing the cutting speed and feed rate. If there is still a large vibration after both have been reduced by 40%, you should consider reducing the amount of cutting.
If there is resonance in the machining system, it may be caused by factors such as excessive cutting speed, low feed speed, insufficient rigidity of the tool system, insufficient workpiece clamping force, workpiece shape or workpiece clamping method. Dosage, increase the rigidity of the tool system, increase the feed rate and other measures.
